What’s happening this week?
On Monday each Class will explore a different country as part of our “Landscapes” theme. Parents and carers are welcome to join us from 2.30 p.m. in the hall to see what we have learned.Artist Rosny and pupils in Yrs 2-4 will be painting the wall – don’t forget your overall!
Tuesday will be a VERY BUSY DAY!
In the morning Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils will be able to take part in a free skateboard park activity. Bikes and helmets will be provided, but suitable bikes may also be brought from home for the day. Please ensure that children wear a long sleeved top and trousers for further skin protection. PLEASE NOTE THAT PUPILS MUST HAVE A SIGNED CONSENT FORM.In the afternoon Sports Day, weather permitting – all welcome. starting at 1.15 p.m. In the Evening Brookfield Summer Concert 7.00 p.m.
Music and songs performed by pupils and including a performance by local Community Choir “The Rolling Stock Company” who will be singing with the school choir, Followed by a “Family Barn Dance” with a real folk band and licensed bar! – all welcome, Brookfield pupils are free, as are children under 5. Adults and older siblings need to purchase a ticket at £1 each from the school office beforehand, and at the door if still available. (Please be aware that numbers are limited due to health and safety)Please ensure that children are back at school for this event at 6.30 p.m. Doors open for the audience at 6.45. Children are encouraged to wear their brightest summer clothes. Wednesday: is “Africa” day,
with Storyteller Andy, drummer Paul and his friend, a dancer from Senegal. Paul is able to stay for a community drumming session today after school, -all welcome.On Thursday we will be learning about about China
craft activities in class – all welcome.If the weather has been wet on Tuesday, this will also be SPORTS AFTERNOON- again weather permitting- all welcome
Friday is Summer Fayre Day,
starting with our final Super Student and wrist band Assembly at 9.00
There will be a chance for all our older pupils to try out a Climbing Wall, Circus skills, the Bouncy Castle and face painting. The Summer Fayre will start as soon as things are ready after around 2.00 p.m. As usual, because of health and safety requirements, the school governing body requests that pupils remain on the school site until 3.00 at the earliest – thank you for your co-operation in this.
Welcome to Miss Rachael Wagstaff who will be working in the school office whilst Miss Victoria Lucas takes her maternity leave from September. Miss Wagstaff is in school this week for some training.
Mrs Greenhough apologises: I left some really important members of staff off the list last week; Ms Kerry Wilson (Parsons) will support children in Y6 and will co-ordinate our Nurture Group in the afternoons next year. Mrs Anne Clark will support in the EYU but will also lead our Forest Schools work. Mrs Mandy Nussey will support pupils in the EYU and will lead our Teacher Talking Programme. These are all vital programmes which will operate while ever we have sufficient funding and the expertise of these key members of staff.
A reminder to parents/carers please ensure that your child has a sun hat and sun cream with them in school as it is very warm.

Reminders
COULD ALL CHILDREN PLEASE ENSURE LIBRARY BOOKS ARE RETURNED AND CARRIER BAGS ARE BROUGHT INTO SCHOOL TO TAKE HOME WORK
PARENTS / CARERS: please keep us informed of any infectious or contagious diseases your child may have. Also, please be aware to check your child’s hair on regular occasions for Head Lice.
Don’t forget that ALL parents and carers are very welcome to attend our Friday Celebration Assemblies on any week. We are continuing with our end of term awards assemblies and our Super Student status.
